GASTONIA, N.C. (March 12, 2018) — PSNC Energy headquarters will become a classroom for a day on March 20, as local middle school students will visit the campus and explore careers in the natural gas industry through live demonstrations and employee Q&A sessions.
“Instead of just telling students what it’s like to work for our company, our goal is to actually show them,” said PSNC Energy Vice President of Operations George Ratchford. “Students will go behind-the-scenes and see firsthand the diverse skills it takes to work for PSNC Energy and the natural gas industry.”
PSNC Energy will host student sessions at 9 a.m. and again at 12:30 p.m. Students will have an opportunity to shadow personnel working in areas such as engineering, construction, safety and welding.
Students@Work℠ is a joint initiative between the North Carolina Business Committee for Education (NCBCE) and the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. The program is funded by a grant from GSK. For more information about NCBCE visit ncbce.org.
