Durham, N.C. (Dec. 3, 2012) – Thanks to the generosity of local PSNC Energy employees the holiday season will be a little brighter for some Triangle homes. PSNC Energy’s Good Neighbor Fund is giving bags of food and toys to 125 needy families who were identified through employee referrals. The PSNC Energy Good Neighbor Fund is in its seventh year of sponsoring the special Christmas project.

“Each summer we hold a ‘Christmas in July’ toy drive in preparation for this project, so the holiday season starts early for us,” said John Willis, PSNC Energy field service representative and Good Neighbor Fund board member. “We enjoy collecting the toys and putting the bags of food together, and we hope to do even more next year.”

PSNC Energy employees will assemble the holiday gifts of food and toys on Tuesday, Dec. 4. Assembly begins at 9 a.m. at PSNC Energy’s South Durham Operations Center at 2541 Whilden Drive in Durham

The PSNC Energy Good Neighbor Fund is funded solely by employee donations, and it provides financial assistance year round to families in the company’s service territory who are in need of help with living expenses such as groceries, mortgage or rent payments, doctor bills or prescription medications. 100% of employee donations to the Good Neighbor Fund program go directly to those in need, and referrals are made by company employees.
