Alternate Fuel

PSNC Energy offers two Rate Schedules to accommodate eligible customers who maintain an alternate fuel source. Special Sales Rate 160 is available to Rate Schedule 150 customers with installed and operable alternate fuel capabilities on those occasions when PSNC Energy has Gas available that is not needed to provide Service under its other Rate Schedules containing fixed rates. Special Transportation Rate 165 is available to Rate Schedule 180 customers with installed and operable alternate fuel capabilities on those occasions when PSNC Energy has transportation Service available that is not needed to provide Service under its other Rate Schedules containing fixed rates. PSNC Energy may require Customers to demonstrate that their alternate fuel capabilities are able to operate before providing service under these Rate Schedules, and sales are provided only in accordance with PSNC Energy’s guidelines as may be revised from time to time.

To establish service for an Account under Rate Schedule 160 or 165, fully complete an Alternate Fuel Price Information form. Fax the form and most recent alternate fuel invoice (in effect between the 25th of the current month and the first day of the following month) specific to the Account to PSNC Energy at 704-834-6555. Invoices should include the type and grade of alternate fuel, quantity delivered, price per unit, applicable taxes, and the delivery location. PSNC Energy must receive the completed form and invoice no later than 2 p.m. on the business day following the NYMEX Settlement Date as indicated on the Transportation Nomination Schedule. PSNC Energy will not be able to provide service under Rate Schedule 160 or 165 if required information is omitted or received after the deadline.

A form must be submitted each month service under Rate Schedule 160 or 165 is desired. If PSNC Energy determines that Rate Schedule 160 or 165 service cannot be provided, customers will be notified promptly by phone or fax after 2 p.m. on the business day following the NYMEX Settlement Date as indicated on the Transportation Nomination Schedule. Service under Rate Schedule 160 or 165 may be the first gas curtailed during a curtailment period. If an emergency occurs when the Account is under curtailment, please immediately notify your account representative or PSNC gas control personnel. Please do not leave a voice mail message. Gas control personnel are available 24/7 at 704-834-6590. Any unauthorized gas usage during periods of curtailment will be charged at the currently effective unauthorized gas rate, in addition to the regular energy charge for such Gas. Please be sure that this information is communicated internally to all appropriate personnel.
